Thanks to roadmusic at Tumblr, I found this gorgeous old-but-never-seen-before Armani photoshoot of Kaka. For those of you who have the bigger version or know any information about in which photoshoot is this photo come from, let me know!
Despite the fact that Kaka is now recovering from the injury, he still manage to have a six hours workout a day. Here are the details about his rehab plus a few photos of him working out at Valdebebas gym.
Only one week after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, Kaka began an intense phase of rehab that requires almost six hours of work each day. Although there is still a long road ahead, the Brazilian midfielder is poised to make a comeback stronger than ever.
The first two weeks following the operation, which took place on 5 August, Kaka was submitted to electro-stimulation, joint mobilization and strength training exercises. Following each session, Kaka underwent cryotherapy treatments and was massaged in areas that received the most strain while swimming.
The ensuing two weeks, the phase Kaka is currently in, have seen the incorporation of groin and abdomen strengthening treatments, propioceptive exercises for the back and waist and stretching drills for the adductor, gluteus and psoas muscles.
Without the aid of crutches, Kaka arrives at Valdebebas at the same time his fellow teammates do. His first stop is the dressing room examination table, where doctors and physiotherapists look at and evaluate his knee. He then begins strength and mobility exercises on his injured knee. If he doesn’t feel any discomfort, which fortunately hasn’t happened in quite some time, Kaka makes his way to the gymnasium.
Kaka first sits on the stationary bicycle, which helps with the mobility of his knee as well as provides an aerobic workout. He then goes to work on his adductors, abductors and hip flexors and extensors.
The next stop is the water, where Kaka improves the mobility of his knee and pelvic region, does further aerobic work in the running pool and stimulates and strengthens his leg with walking exercises.
Those who accompany Kaka on his six hour journey each day insist they have to slow down his drive. Kaka is so anxious to return that he would easily double up on his work load. Although he knows that his exact return date is a mystery, he also realizes that each day that goes by is another day closer to his goal of donning the Real Madrid shirt once again.
Kaka’s doctor Carloz Diez also added that his recovery progress is favorable.
Carlos Diez, Chief of Sanitas-Real Madrid Medical Services, and Juan Carlos Hernandez, memeber of Real Madrid’s Medical Staff, discuss the recovery of the player
Carlos Diez and Juan Carlos Hernandez join forces with the Club’s physiotherapists to heal Kaka’s injuries as soon as possible. They here discuss the work the player is doing to meet all the deadlines.
“All the recovery stages we are coming up with focus on the recovery of the player’s knee. This doesn’t mean that, as he recovers, and depending on how he feels from a clinical point of view, we won’t reach a stage in which we will focus at the same time on his groin, looking for him to work with the team again as soon as possible.”
“Kaka is currently doing recovery exercises. Those in the pool are done with weights to try to strengthen the muscles in the knee area. He is also doing propioceptive exercises to gradually improve on the progress he’s making.”
“He is practically asymptomatic on the knee. He may experience some muscular fatigue at times, but this is normal due to the inactivity he’s been experiencing. There are nevertheless no clinical manifestations proper to the knee.”
“Kaka is very meticulous with his work. He likes to takcle things within the deadline and it is a pleasure to work with him. He always wants to work more and we have to rein him in to avoid him making things that could be detrimental.”
“Kaka’s daily routine begins with an exploration of the knee. He then goes to the gym and to the pool to do strenghteninig workouts on his groin and knee. He works out for three hours in the morning and two and a half in the afternoon practically every day. He sometimes is given a day off to rest when the work he’s been doing is very intense. We have set certain deadlines and we are happy because we are meeting them all.”
“We want to be careful because this is the second operation he’s had on that knee. It would be a mistake on our part to force his re-entry in the team if the isn’t 100% fit to play. Afrer healing the knee we have to heal the groin, which more or less indirectly affects the entire recovery process. We are very satisfied with the progress he’s making.”
Hey guys, sorry I’m late for posting this. I was out of town to celebrate Eid Mubarak celebration with my family, so first of all I’d love to greet you all Moslems: Happy Eid Mubarak! =)
So this article pretty much answered about your questions of Ricardo Kaka‘s recovery progress. It goes very well and Kaka himself can’t wait to make a great comeback. Here are the article and a bunch of photos from the interview.
Kaka to Realmadrid.com: “I work very hard to return the support shown by fans, my team-mates and the club”
Despite the fact that Kaka is living out some of the greyer days of his career, the Brazilian midfielder is slowly starting to smile again. He feels little discomfort in his knee and he is as anxious as ever to return to the pitch for Real Madrid.
How do you feel?
My knee doesn’t hurt any more. It has been a month since I had surgery and everything is going well. I spend many hours doing physiotherapy, which is helping me a lot.
It looks like you are starting to smile again after a month of hard work.
Yes, mainly because my knee is getting better, which makes me happy. I am anxious to get back to work.
Your team-mates’ support has being very important to you.
The squad has been helping a lot. You saw Cristiano Ronaldo come joke around with me, but there are many other players who have dealt with similar injuries and who I talk to frequently. I thank all of them for the support they have shown.
The only thing you have thought about since your operation on 5 August has been working hard to rejoin the squad.
I asked the doctors how long I would need to recover and play again. They said it depends on me and my progress. I am committed to doing everything I can to recover as soon as possible and return to work.
On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sportreported that five-time, reigning Italian champions Inter Milan were interested in Real Madrid midfielder Kaká.
Reports have linked Kaká with a move away from the Bernabeu for some time now. After joining AC Milan in 2003, the Brazilian international left for Madrid in a move worth over $100 million (U.S.).
His first season at his new club was difficult for the former World Player of the Year. After scoring 16 goals in his final Milan season, his lowest total since 2004-2005, the Brazilian managed only 9 in 33 total matches for Madrid, 8 in 25 league matches.
After injuries gave him trouble last season, he is already struggling again this season, as he is out of action until about November with a leg injury. With the new additions Madrid have made this summer, including Mesut Özil and Sergio Canales, it is likely that Kaká will be allowed to leave for the right price.
Rumors earlier this summer had him linked with Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti, his manager at AC Milan. Manchester City have always been interested in the player, who snubbed them in January of 2009 before joining Madrid in June.
This most recent report is the first time Inter Milan have been rumored to be interested in their former rival; however, the Nerazurri were quick to deny the reports.
“It could be a good idea but it did not come from us,” Inter president Massimo Moratti clarified to the media.
“I also read it in the paper. I have never spoken to Mourinho.”
Most likely, the only way Kaká would return to Italy is with AC Milan. Before leaving, Kaká had stated his intentions of one day being the club captain. At the time of his departure, he said he was only leaving to help Milan towards fixing their financial issues.
Kaká would surely love to return to the club which made him an international star.
Milan fans would surely love to have him back.
Furthermore, Kaka is happy at Real Madrid and wouldn’t fancy the idea of returning to play for an Italian club other than Milan. (!!!)
However, reports now have Milan interested in former Inter Milan striker and lifelong Milan supporter, Mario Balotelli.
This just in: a report said that our man Ricardo Kaka will likely be back to play for Real Madrid in January 2011.
Real Madrid midfielder Kaka will be fit for duty no sooner than January 2011. He is likely to be ready for the January 9 Real Madrid v Villarreal match, AS Spanish newspaper reported. Doctors suppose he will resume trainings in December.
This is a delightful news, but also a sad news. Isn’t it too long to wait until January 2011? I do hope that he will recover very soon. But if it’s for his own health then I can do nothing. All I can wish is the best for him! =)
Finally, photos of Ricardo Kaka for Adidas SLVR campaign have been released! Now we have three more additions. Ricky looks absolutely stunning in these photos, so enjoy! =)
