Marca Interview Article & Videos

The injury news might be sad for Kaka (and for us as well) but looking at him being optimistic that he’ll make the best out of him again this season, seems like nothing can hold him down!

Brazil striker Kaka has pledged to once again be the best player in the world, saying a doctor who operated on his knee had exaggerated the seriousness of his injury.

After a routine preseason check by Madrid doctors discovered a problem, Dr. Marc Martens performed arthroscopic surgery on Kaka’s left knee on Aug. 5 then claimed the player put his career in jeopardy by playing at the World Cup.

But Kaka denied it in an interview published by Spanish newspaper Marca on Friday.

“Martens is a great professional but he raised the alarm, he exaggerated a lot,” said Kaka.

Martens said Kaka was in unbearable pain during Brazil’s quarterfinal loss to the Netherlands in the World Cup.

Kaka said he played in pain before that game.

“I played in pain in a lot of games, not just with the national team, but also with Real Madrid,” he said. “And not just my knee, but other parts of my body, too.”

After a €65 million ($83 million) move from AC Milan, Kaka had a disappointing first year at Real Madrid last season, when he was hampered by a groin injury. The groin problem aggravated the knee injury, he said.

He said he got through the pressure caused by the injury with the help of “faith, family and friends,” and he expects to return to action in four months.

“I will be the best in the world again. Today it’s difficult to say this, but I think I’m going to be successful with Real Madrid. I had the operation to be No. 1 again.”

The original interview was actually featured in Marca, but it’s in Spanish so I couldn’t understand any single thing — but thanks to Google Translate. =P And here’s a video highlight from the interview:

Kaka for FIFA 11 Videos

For those of you who loves Kaka and play football video games, great news for you! Our man will be featured on the cover of FIFA 11, as well as its main trailer. Check out the 30 seconds teaser trailer and special message from him below.

EA Sports has confirmed FIFA 11 with the developer promising to “redefine player authenticity.”

Yesterday we detailed the first pieces of information regarding the next title in the award winning series and now EA Sports has explained the new features in more detail.

The player personality model, which will give players unique traits and behaviour styles on the pitch has been named Personality+ and will use 36 attributes and 57 traits to create a world of unique players.

“Personality+ is the evolution of individual distinctiveness that sees a footballer’s abilities on the pitch mirrored authentically in our game, creating individual personalities in FIFA 11,” said executive producer Kaz Makita.

Real Madrid and Brazil’s Kaka will produce “crisp, creative poasses” while the likes of center back Giorgio Chiellini will hassle strikers and anticipate when to put his body on the line to block a shot.

He added, “We have reached a level of sophistication within our game engine where footballers in our game will behave and perform as true individuals.”

One of the main additions to FIFA 11 is the brand new passing mechanic, which rewards and punishes players depending on how much power and placement they try to put on a pass.

The control pad will determine the majority of the passing accuracy while variables such as the urgency of a pass and the player’s skill all produce different outcomes.

FIFA 11 has so far been confirmed for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and will launch this fall.

The animation looks great don’t you think? Soon as the official original trailer comes out I’ll post it in this site.

Kaka at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Finally, some public appearances by our man! Yesterday Ricardo Kaka spent the time at the Disney Complex, giving football tips for the youth team and Disney’s very own Mickey Mouse! Here are a few photos and a couple of videos from the event (he speaks English and it’s very good!).

(Warning: Too much cuteness alert!)

In the interview, Kaka said that he’s looking forward to work with the new Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho. I think this is a clear statement that he is staying in Real Madrid and will not move to Chelsea, like most people say nowadays. =)
